LANXESS – Price increase for rubber chemicals
23.03.2011
Leverkusen - Specialty chemicals company LANXESS is to increase its prices worldwide for rubber chemicals supplied by the Rubber Chemicals business unit effective April 1, 2011. This is primarily in response to steeply rising raw material costs.
The price increase affects almost the entire product range of antioxidants (Vulkanox, Vulkazon), accelerators (Vulkacit) and specialty chemicals (e.g. Renacit, Cohedur, Perkalink, Vulcuren etc.) and will be in the region of 15 - 25 % depending on the product and region.
The rubber chemicals Vulkanox (antioxidants), Vulkacit (vulcanization accelerators) and Renacit (peptizers) plus the other specialty chemicals involved are mainly used for the manufacture of rubber products such as tires, hoses and profiles and in the production of drive elements.
The Rubber Chemicals business unit is part of the LANXESS Performance Chemicals segment, which posted sales in 2010 of EUR 1.978 billion.
